These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Elliott Chimney Services (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking an appointment or using our services, you agree to these terms.
Services
We provide chimney sweeping, inspection, maintenance, and related services to residential and commercial customers.
All work is carried out with reasonable care and skill in line with current industry standards.
By employing Elliott Chimney Services, you agree that we are capable and competent to complete the works quoted.
Quotations & Pricing

Quotes are based on the information provided at the time of booking.

If additional work is required due to unforeseen issues (e.g., severe tar build-up, blockages, damaged liners), we will inform you before proceeding where possible.

Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
Payment Terms
Payment is due immediately upon completion of the work.
We accept payment by cash, bank transfer, or other agreed methods.
If payment is not made on completion:

We reserve the right to charge reasonable administration costs

Interest may be charged in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 (where applicable)

Future bookings may be declined
Access & Customer Responsibility
The customer must:

Provide safe, unobstructed access to the appliance, chimney, loft space, and/or roof area

Ensure pets and children are kept clear of the work area

Inform us of any known defects, previous chimney fires, structural damage, or appliance issues
We reserve the right to refuse or suspend work if conditions are unsafe.
Roof Work, Ladder & Weather Conditions
Some services require roof access.

Roof work is carried out at our discretion based on safety assessment.

We will not access roofs during unsafe weather conditions (including high winds, heavy rain, frost, or ice).

If roof access is deemed unsafe upon arrival, we may rearrange the appointment.
We are not liable for pre-existing roof damage, loose tiles, or fragile structures.
Soot Containment Disclaimer
We use industry-standard dust control equipment and protective measures during sweeping.
However:

Chimney sweeping may release soot, dust, or debris.

While every reasonable precaution is taken, we cannot guarantee zero dust escape.

Customers are advised to remove or cover delicate items near the work area before our arrival.
We are not responsible for minor residual dust where reasonable precautions have been taken.
Pre-Existing & Hidden Defects
We are not liable for:

Pre-existing structural faults

Damaged liners, cracked flues, or historic chimney issues

Hidden defects that are not visible during routine sweeping

Damage caused by previous poor installation or maintenance
Where issues are identified, we will advise accordingly.
Limitation of Liability
We carry appropriate public liability insurance.
Our liability is limited to the value of the service provided, except in cases of death or personal injury caused by negligence or where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
Cancellations
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a reasonable charge.
Complaints Procedure
If you are dissatisfied with our service, please contact us within 7 days so we can investigate and resolve the matter.

Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
